Harvest + Time

After being stalled out for a while I finally have paint on every part of the canvas. The key was adding the sickle. It ties together the themes of autumn harvest and the end of life, and connect to the clock and the cutting down of that which is ripe.



Painted the bell jar over the clock, and worked on glowing white background and the burlap drape. Just figured out that's kohlrabi in the right corner and not a rutabaga, courtesy of a friendly vegan.
Tomorrow I'm working on the basket weave or maybe tacking the detail on a leaf.
